The Bod Squad provides interactive presentations, known as “lecture-cise”, a term coined by Gina. These presentations will encourage you to reconnect with your own physical, mental, and emotional health. You’ll discover how to stimulate your body’s endorphin response while participating in fun, simple, equipment-free movements that offer not only many health benefits, but provide body-based processes that are vital for recovery from substance misuse.
The interactive portion is appropriate for all fitness levels and can be done entirely from a seated position if desired. The closing of the presentation includes group relaxation techniques with affirmations incorporated to soothe the frazzled mind and activate the parasympathetic nervous system to promote relaxation and relieve anxiety.
Gina was chosen based on excellence in leadership within her organization and community, her ability to promote change, her willingness to share expertise with others, and for serving as a role model and mentor to others in public health.
